Housewife burned to death in Pabna

A housewife was burned to death as a fire broke out in her house at Sujanagar upazila in Pabna on Saturday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Aleya Khatun, 25, wife of Halim Sheikh of Mandiarkandi village. Witnesses said the fire broke out from an oven in Halim Sheikh's house at Mandiarkandi village and soon spread to the adjoining houses around 3:30pm, burning down seven houses. Aleya was trapped in her house when the fire broke out and died. On information, several fire fighting units from Sujanagar fire station rushed in and doused the flames after an hour of hectic efforts with the help of the locals. The fire fighters recovered the charred body of Aleya from her house. The affected families claimed that the fire gutted valuables worth Tk 1 million, according to UNB.
