Housewife burnt to death in Jamalpur

JAMALPUR, May 8 (UNB):A housewife was burned to death allegedly by her in-laws at Togarchar village in Melandaha Upazila Friday night.
The victim was identified as Sabina Akther, daughter of Alaluddin Fakir of Baghadoba village of the same upazila.
Family sources said Sabina was married off with Moniurzzaman nine months back. Meanwhile, she filed a case against her brother-in-law Rokunuzzaman follwing a family feud. But her in-laws used to torture her to withdraw the case.
On the fateful night, Rokunuzzaman and his family members beat up Sabina in absence of her husband and set her afire pouring kerosene on her body, leaving her seriously injured.
Hearing the incident, her husband rushed to the spot and took her to Jamalpur General Hospital from where she was referred to Dhaka as her condition deteriorated. Later, Sabina succumbed to her injuries on way to Dhaka.
