SATKHIRA, Feb 4 (UNB): A housewife allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her house as she failed to repay the loan installments in Munjitpur area of the district town Friday afternoon.
The victim was identified as Lipi Akter, 25, wife of Faruk Hossain of the area.
Police and local sources said Lipi Akter had taken loans from different NGOs to maintain her family expenses but failed to repay the installments regularly. Moreover, her husband left for Dhaka in the name of searching work when she gave birth to her second child.
She started to work as a maid in different houses but could not repay the loan installments due to abject poverty.
