Housewife killed by husband for dowry

TANGAIL, Jul 28 (BSS): A pregnant housewife was killed allegedly by her husband over dowry at Alokdia village under Madhupur upazila of the district yesterday.
The victim was identified as Merina Khatun, 22, daughter of Sahidul of Digorbide village of the same upazila.
Officer-in-charge of Madhupur thana Mujibur Rahman said Merina had got married one year ago with Hafizul. During the marriage, Merina's father paid cash of Tk one lakh to Hafizul as dowry.
After the marriage addicted Hafizul put up pressure to Merina for demand more money. At one stage he tortured to Merina brutally.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Tangail Sadar hospital morgue for autopsy.
