Housewife killed by husband, in-laws

A housewife has been beaten to death allegedly by her husband and in-laws at Enayetpur village at Naogaon Sadar Upazila. Police recovered the hanging body of Mousumi Akhter, wife of Faruque Hossain of the village, on Wednesday afternoon. Locals said Mousumi, daughter of Masud Rana of Sultanpur village of Sadar Upazila, was married off to Faruque, son of Tofazzal Hossain, 7 years ago. Three years into the marriage, Mousumi came to know that Faruque has an extramarital affair with a woman of the village which led to frequent brawls between them. However, Faruque could not severe the illegal relation. On the fateful day, the Faruque engaged in an altercation with Mousumi over the issue. At one stage Faruque, his father Tofazzal and mother Fatema Begum allegedly tortured Mousumi to death and hanged her body to pass the murder as suicide. Informed by neighbours, police recovered the body that bore several injury marks. Police also found Faruque, Tofazzal and Fatema Begum absconding, according to a news agency.
