Housewife killed by lightning strike in Jessore

BENAPOLE, June 16 (UNB): A housewife was killed and three others were injured as a streak of thunderbolt hit them at Gorpara village in Sharsha upazila of Jessore district on Monday evening.
The deceased was identified as Anwara Begum (39), wife of Abu Taleb, a resident of the village.
Local sources said four people, including Anwara and her husband Abu Taleb, were injured when they were struck by lightning a strike while they were staying in a field during rainfall in the evening.
The injured were rushed to Sharsha Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctors declared Anwara dead.
Union Parishad Chairman Alim Reza Bappi confirmed the death.
