Housewife killed for dowry

GOPALGANJ, Sept 15 (UNB): A housewife was strangulated to death allegedly by her husband for dowry at Khatiagarh village under Sadar Upazila Thursday night.
Sources said Nazmul since his marriage some years ago started torturing his wife Sara Begum (22) for dowry money to go abroad. On the fateful night he asked his wife to bring the money from her parents. But on her refusal he beat her mercilessly and strangulated her to death.
Later, he hanged the body from the ceiling of his house to prove that she had committed suicide and fled away.
Police, on information, recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy.
A case was filed in this connection.
