Tangail, Nov 17: A house-wife was brutally murdered at Bottola of the Tangail municipality today (Thursday) at about 2-30pm in Tangail.
The deceased was identified as Helena Begum (50), wife of Motahar Hossain of Bottola in the town.
Officer in charge of Sadar police station Najrul Islam said murder took place at the bedroom of their residence by strangulating the victim by some unknown miscreants.
Being informed police came to the spot and took the dead body to Tangail General Hospital morgue for autopsy. After the incident husband of Helena fled away.
Sohel (22), elder son of Helena said after his father's death she married Motahar with my two sisters in 2006. After the second marriage Motahar and his family regularly used to torture his mother for money.
Until filing of the report no case was filed with Tangail Sadar police station in this connection.
