Housewife stabbed dead by husband in Nawabganj

NAWABGANJ, July 27 (UNB): A housewife was allegedly stabbed to death by her husband in Nawabganj upazila in the outskirts of the capital on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Shahnaj Begum (30), wife of Mohammad Shahin, hailing from Balihari village of Swarupkhali upazila in Pirojpur district.
The couple used to live in a rented out house of Kader Mollah at Komorganj village in Nawabganj.
Police suspected that Shahin hit Shahnaj in the head with a hammer over a family feud early morning, leaving her dead.
On information, police recovered the body at noon and seized the hammer from the spot.
The body bore injury mark on its head. Shahin went into hiding after the incident.
Tajuddin Ahmed, sub-inspector (SI) of Nawabganj Police Station, confirmed the incident.
