Housewife sustains burn injuries in abortive suicide attempt

A housewife sustained burn injuries as she made an abortive bid to commit suicide by setting her body on fire at city's Dakkhin Khan on Friday, reports UNB.
The victim was identified as Parul Begum, 26, wife of businessman Awlad Hossain, resident of 223 Mollartek in same thana.
Following an altercation with her husband over a family matter, she poured kerosene on her body at noon and torched it in a bid to kill herself, that left her injured, said police.
Neighbours admitted her to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in a critical condition.
Police later detained Awlad Hossain for interrogation.
