Hewlett-Packard (HP), the world's top PC maker, has introduced a series of thin, light and stylish notebook PCs, aiming to further raise its share in the global PC market.
Among them, the new stylish and eye-catching products include HP Touch Smart PC, New High Definition HP Mini, HP Envy notebook and HP Imprint 3D.
While launching the HP's new products on September 15 last in Singapore, the company executives expressed their hope that the ultra-thin, light and slim notebooks and laptop PCs will be able to satisfy the customers of all ages.
The "Envy" is the HP's first entry into the high-end, ultra-thin consumer PC market.
According to the company sources, the Envy is less than an inch thick and weighs less than four pounds, and will have a customised software interface.
They also said the HP is also set to launch a pair of more affordable PCs in the 'thin and light' category.
Besides, the company will offer a special off-price during its upcoming Christmas sales.
"We have high expectation of a positive market response," Senior Vice President, personal systems group, of the HP Asia Pacific and Japan said at the HP's new product launching ceremony at Resort Sentosa in Singapore.
Also speaking in the product launching event 'Nothing but hp for me', Dennis Mark, vice president and general manager, desktop system of HP Asia Pacific and Japan, also mentioned that the HP was the first company to launch the touch technology PCs in the market more than 25 years back.
The HP officials said the company, which was formed over 70 years back in 1931, has managed to grow its global market share to 20 per cent.
The HP, which has been actively pushing its creative side as PC maker, is increasingly emphasising design as a way to differentiate its machines.
There has been a growing demand and popularity of notebooks across the globe as users continue to switch over to ultra-portable devices that are used primarily for web surfing, e-mail and other simple tasks.
