Monday, 3 September 2007

The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) Ltd in Bangladesh has received AA+ (Double A Plus) in the long-term and ST-1 in the short term by Credit Rating Information and Services Limited (CRISL) of the country, said a press release.
CRISL, a credit rating agency of the country, was assigned by the Bangladesh Bank to carry out the rating of HSBC as well as other financial institutions.
HSBC was adjudged to be of high quality for offering higher safety and higher credit value. The level of rating indicated HSBC's sound credit profile and absence of significant problems. The short-term rating indicated with highest certainty the bank's capacity to meet its financial commitments similar to risk-free government short-term securities.
