HSBC distributes relief among flood victims

The staff of The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) Ltd in Bangladesh recently distributed relief materials worth Tk 1.0 million (10 lakh) to the flood-affected people at Delduar in Tangail and at Haimchar in Chandpur.
Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BRCS) provided logistic support to the HSBC staff in distributing the relief goods that included rice, daal, edible oil, salt, sari and lungi.
Earlier, the HSBC staff distributed relief materials worth Tk 0.14 million in Sirajganj, and also provided financial donations to various fund-raising bodies.
Besides, further donations will be made in the future to help the flood-affected people directly, said a press release. HSBC has also opened a special flood donation 2007 account, no - 001-909969-026, where donations can be deposited. For every Tk 500 donation, a 25-kg relief package will reach a family. k
