HSBC expands footprint to more EPZs

Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) opened two more Business Development Offices (BDO) in Ishwardi and Karnaphuly Export Processing Zones Monday.
With the latest addition, the HSBC is now present in 7 EPZs of the country.
Feroz Rahim - Group Managing Director of Rahimafrooz inaugurated the HSBC office in Ishwardi EPZ. Mr Md. Nurul Haque - General Manager of Ishwardi EPZ, and Mr Munawar M Moin - Group Director of Rahimafrooz were also present.
The HSBC office in Karnaphuly EPZ was inaugurated by Mr Md. Naushad All Chowdhury General Manager of Bangladesh Bank, Chittagong. Mr Mahmud Hasan - General Manager of Karnaphuly EPZ was present on the occasion.
The guests thanked HSBC for expanding its footprint in the EPZs of Bangladesh and expressed strong appreciation for HSBC's commitment to the country's export growth. HSBC's customers, officials of Bangladesh Bank, BEPZA and other Government authorities, representatives of the media and local dignitaries witnessed the inauguration of both the offices.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mr Md Mahbub-ur-Rahman, Corporate Banking Head of HSBC in Bangladesh commented, "The new business development offices will help HSBC to offer world-class Trade Finance solutions to the customers in EPZs. As the only Bank present in 7 EPZs, we will be able to contribute further to the continued growth of exports from Bangladesh". Mr M Shohiduzzaman - Division Head Trade & Supply Chain, Mr Riaz Choudhury - Division Head Corporate Banking and Mr Syed Javed Noor - Division Head Chittagong of HSBC were also present during the inauguration.
