HSBC holds trade seminar for customers on UCP 600

The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) Ltd in Bangladesh arranged a trade seminar titled " UCP 600: Changes and Interpretations" at a local venue recently, said a press release.
Head of Trade Services of HSBC Bangladesh Nazre Murshed officially inaugurated the seminar.
He emphasised the importance of the changes incorporated in UCP 600 and its implications in international trade with regard to conducting business.
Head of Corporate Banking of HSBC Bangladesh Mahbub-ur-rahman also spoke in the opening ceremony. He reiterated HSBC's role and commitment towards the customers and assured them of all possible support and assistance in conducting their business with HSBC leveraging the international network and local expertise.
Associate Professor of Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management (BIBM) Shah Md Ahsan Habib gave a presentation on international and local regulations affecting the new code and highlighted the changes that had been incorporated in UCP 600.
HSBC Bangladesh Chief Executive Officer Steve Banner gave the concluding speech and vote of thanks at the end of the seminar highlighting the importance of international trade in the country's economy and the role the bank played in this connection. He also has accentuated the long experience that HSBC has in international trade and reaffirmed the participants' strong commitment toward service excellence.
Around 150 HSBC corporate customers attended the seminar. The seminar participants also had an interactive session with the guest speakers after the presentation, which helped them clarify some of their issues on the topic presented.
HSBC arranged the seminar as part of its commitment towards providing better service, enhancing communication with the corporate customers and rejuvenating the minds of the participants for the challenges ahead.
