HSBC holds workshop

Global Markets Department of HSBC Bangladesh organised a workshop titled 'Balancesheet Management and Risk Transfer Principles' at Manikganj recently.
Foreign exchange dealers from 22 commercial banks and officials of the central bank participated in the workshop, said a press release.
Tarique I Khan, head of global markets at HSBC Bangladesh, conducted the workshop.
A discussion was also held on key concepts of balancesheet management and principles of transferring market risks to treasury department.
Importance of DIBOR rollout and implementation was highlighted as the key vehicle for proper transfer of market interest rate risks at the parley.
The participants engaged themselves in lively discussions sharing their own experiences and the central bank officials also offered insights into regulatory support of market development.
Global Markets HSBC Bangladesh has been organising similar in-country workshops since 2004 for developing the Bangladesh markets.
