HSBC partners with SEID to improve lives of disabled children

 HSBC is partnering in a programme with Society for Education and Inclusion of the Disabled (SEID) that will work with children with disabilities to increase their responsiveness and quality of life.
The programme is called 'Inclusion through Removing Barriers of Children with Disabilities', said a statement.
To mark its 150th anniversary, HSBC is making an additional global fund of US$150 million over three years (2015-2017) available to selected local charities across the world and SEID will receive a grant from this fund to deliver the programme.
At least 100 children with disabilities such as autism, cerebral palsy, down's syndrome, intellectual disability and those with multiple disabilities will benefit from the support provided by this programme over a period of three years.
The launch event was held recently at Dhanmondi, Dhaka. Tariq-Ul-Islam, Secretary, Ministry of Social Welfare spoke. Ranjan Karmaker, Chairperson SEID, Dr. Mohammad Mahmudur Rahman Professor, Department of Clinical Psychology, University of Dhaka, children and representatives from SEID, senior officials and volunteers from HSBC Bangladesh attended.
Ms. Dilara Satter Mitu, Executive Director SEID said: "This is an additional grant will allow SEID to deliver positive assistance to disadvantaged children. We are pleased to receive this extra support and the positive impact that this programme will deliver."
