CHATTOGRAM, Oct 25: The result of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exams of the son of former secretary of Chattogram education board has been officially cancelled.
The authorities concerned have taken action after an investigation found evidence of fraudulence in HSC result last month.
The final decision came after the board's disciplinary committee during a meeting held on Thursday confirmed the allegation of manipulating the result.
The news report on result manipulation was published on The Financial Express on 29 December 2023.
Prof Nath's son, Nakshatra Chandra Nath, controversially secured GPA-5 in the 2023 HSC exams, although he failed to pass his pretest in the college.
So, his board result sparked widespread scrutiny and allegations of deception as Prof Nath held the post of controller of examinations at that time.
The investigation found that it was an act of fraud.
As the allegation surfaced, Prof Nath was transferred from his post at the board on 09 July to the Chattogram office of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.
However, on September 23, following a political changeover, he was designated as an officer on special duty.
