Huawei donates world class wireless telecom lab worth $3m to BUET

Huawei, a global leader in next generation communication network, will provide a world class wireless communication laboratory and training centre to Electric and Electronics Engineering (EEE) Department of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).

The lab, equipped with GSM-CDMA technology, will be installed at the EEE Department's new building at west Palashi and would contribute in grooming up of skilled telecom experts in the country.

Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) signed an agreement in this connection with BUET at a city hotel Wednesday.

Education Adviser Hossain Zillur Rahman, was the chief guest on the occasion. Special Assistant to Chief Adviser in charge of Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources M Tamim attended the programme as the special guest.

HUAWEI Technologies Deputy Chief Representative Wonder Wang and Head of EEE Department Dr Aminul Hoque signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides.

BUET Vice Chancellor Dr A MM Safiullah and Charge de Affaires of China Embassy Wang Yu also attended the programme.
