SHANGHAI, May 3 (BSS): Huawei Technologies Company Limited (Huawei) is planning to expand its business in fast growing markets like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and India by introducing latest technology to maximise its return.
"We already have an annual business of US$200 million in Bangladesh and are planning to expand in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and India," President of South Asia Region of Huawei Jeff Liu Feng said while exchanging views with the journalists of South Asia, Latin America and Africa here Friday.
Replying to a question, he said Bangladesh did a lot for improving the telecommunications sector, but it would have to do more for infrastructure development for reaching the telecom facilities at doorsteps of the people.
Bangladesh has a very wide rural area where communication network is poor.. It's difficult to reach cost effective telecom facilities to the people of such areas, Mr Feng said adding Huawei is trying its best to provide latest telecom facilities to Bangladesh jointly with the private sector.
