Huawei trains engineering students

Huawei Technologies Limited, a leading supplier of next generation telecom equipment across the world, Thursday awarded certificates to the participants who attended a training programme on GSM technology.
Architect Yeafes Osman, State Minister for the Ministry of Science and ICT distributed the certificates among 15 participants of the two days training on 'Global System for Mobile (GSM) Fundamentals: Level-1.
The programme was jointly organised by Huawei and Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) from March 9 to 10 at the Huawei-BUET Wireless Communications Laboratory under the Department of Electronic and Electric Engineering,BUET.
Participants for the programme were drawn from various universities across the country, Huawei officials said.
Prof. Dr. A.M.M. Safiullah, Vice-Chancellor, BUET, and Prof. Dr. M. Habibur Rahman, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, BUET were also present at the programme as the special guests. Mr. Zhang Hui Tony, Chief Executive Officer of Huawei Technologies in Bangladesh was also present at the programme.
Earlier, Huawei provided modern wireless equipment worth around US$3million to establish state-of- the-art wireless communication laboratory at the BUET under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme in Bangladesh.
Huawei also trained six BUET professors on Huawei products and jointly developed a training module titled 'GSM Fundamental Training, Level-1,' for the training recipients.
The module is designed for the fresh graduates, waiting to enter in the job market after finishing their graduations. The module contains theoretical as well as hands on experience to give them an insight on the fundamental of GSM wireless network system, Huawei officials said.
