Huge amount of fake furnace oil seized in Khulna

KHULNA, Oct 26 (UNB): The members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) seized 1.0 million litres of counterfeit furnace oil worth about Tk 25 million from three fuel shops at the city's Khalishpur area Thursday night and Friday morning.
The RAB men arrested Mujibur Rahman and Mehedi Hasan in this connection from the spot.
RAB sources said they raided three wholesale fuel shops of Padma Oil Company Thursday night and seized two lakh litres of fake furnace oil from Joint Fuel Supply, 0.2 million litres from Sayma Enterprise and 0.1 million litres from Abdullah Traders.
The owners of the business establishments fled the scene sensing the presence of the elite force.
The RAB men again Friday morning resumed the search in the three wholesale shops and recovered 0.2 million litres of furnace oil each from Joint Fuel Supply and Abdullah Traders and 0.1 million litres from Sayma Enterprise.
