Huge counterfeit revenue stamps recovered

RASHAHI, Aug17: Members of RAB-5 at Railway colony camp recovered a large number of counterfeit revenue stamps and arrested one person from Bonpara by-pass crossing of Natore and Baghail Notun Para village under Pabna district recently.

Acting on a tip off, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members arrested Majnu Mia (25), son of Abdul Ghafur of Bonpara by-pass crossing and based on his confessional statement they recovered counterfeit 500 revenue stamps of taka four denomination each and 5,200 revenue stamps of taka one denomination each.

According to the information of arrested Majnu, RAB members conducted an operation at Baghail Notun Para village under Pabna district and arrested Anowarul Alam Khokon (35), son of late Saiful Islam of village Sultanabad of Rajshahi and recovered 2,000 counterfeit revenue stamps of taka four denomination each, 2,000 counterfeit stamps of taka one denomination each, 93 stamps of taka 100 denomination each, 220 stamps of taka 50 denomination each and 76 counterfeit revenue stamps of taka 25 denomination each from his possession.
