Huge demand for Bangladeshi pharma, leather, jute products in Vietnam

CHITTAGONG, Sept 20: Bangladesh is one of the rising economies of south and south east Asia and Vietnamese businessmen are keen on establishing stronger economic relations with Bangladesh.
Strategic and helpful geographical location, availability of huge number of efficient and cheap workers and priority based market facilities received from the different developed countries, have proved Bangladesh as an excellent business and investment destination.
This observation was made by the Second Secretary of the Vietnam Embassy in Bangladesh Vo Tuan Ngoc while meeting Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) President Saifuzzaman Chowdhury at Chittagong Chamber House auditorium Thursday.
Vietnamese Embassy official said, the investors of his country were active in augmenting the volume of business and investment in Bangladesh considering different competitive edge prevailing here.
He said, there was a tremendous demand of pharmaceuticals, leather products, jute products as well as ceramic and melamine products of Bangladesh in Vietnam.
Greeting the Vietnamese diplomat CCCI President assured him on behalf of CCCI of extending co-operation to the Vietnamese businessmen for enhancing trade and investment.
Underscoring the need for regular exchange of trade delegations for expanding bilateral trade and investment, Saifuzzaman requested the visiting Vietnamese diplomat to play an effective role in this respect.
CCCI Sr Vice President M A Latif, Vice President Mahbub Alam and Director Syed Jamal Ahmed were present on the occasion.
