Huge fish poisoned in Chuadanga pond

CHUADANGA, July 19: Rivals poisoned a huge quantity of fish in a pond in village Chhotoshaluya under Chuadanga sadar Upazila of the district Friday night.
A victim fish cultivator Bashudeb Halder said he had taken lease of 15 bigha waterbody in village Chhotosholuya at Tk 0.3 million this year and has cultivated fish and released huge quantity of fish fry. The opponents of Bashudeb poured poison in his pond at the dead of night on Friday over previous enmity killing fish worth about 0.6 million.
When contacted chuadanga police station, officer-in-charge, Mr Asaduzzaman Munshi said no case was lodged over the incident till sending the news.
