Huge Indian clothes seized in Khulna

KHULNA, Oct 31: A special team of BDR 41 Battalion seized a huge quantity of Indian sarees and three-piece worth about Tk 1 million and arrested six smugglers from Dhaka along with two microbuses near Bakal school of Satkhira Friday night.
BDR sources said, a special team of BDR led by Nayek Subeder Shamsuddin raided the Bakal area and halted Dhaka-bound two microbuses coming from Bhomra border on Satkhira Kaliganj road. After searching the microbuses BDR recovered 536 pieces of Indian sarees, 422 pieces of three-piece and 18 pieces of scurf worth about Tk 1 million. BDR also arrested Kabir Alam (42), Tazul Islam (28), Kabir Ali (31), Sharif Mia (22), and driver Abu Taher (35) and Shukur Ali (42).
The arrested smugglers were handed over to the Satkhira Sadar Thana police. A case has been lodged in this connection with the concerned police station.
