HuJI chief placed under 7-day remand

The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court Thursday in the city granted seven days' police remand to Maulana Sheikh Farid, the chief of banned militant organization Harkat- ul-Jehad al-Islami (HuJI), for interrogating him in connection with the August 21 grenade attack case, reports BSS. Maulana Sheikh Farid was produced before the court of Metropolitan Magistrate (MM) Keshab Ray Chowdhury with a prayer of 10 days' police remand. The court after hearing the statement of the prosecution side, granted seven days' remand.
