Human chain at JU protesting Israeli genocide in Palestine
JU Correspondent | Monday, 14 July 2014
Teachers and students of Jahangirnagar University (JU) Sunday formed a human chain protesting ongoing genocide being carried out by Israel in Palestinian city Gaza.
Over 250 teachers and students took part in the protest programme in front of the new arts faculty building with a call to the international community for pressing Israel to stop the massacre terming it 'most ferocious' and 'crime against humanity.'
Speaking at the human chain, Prof ATM Atiqur Rahman said, "We can't support the Israeli genocide in Gaza in any means. It is clear that Israel is committing such kind of cruelty with the silent patronisation of US. It must be stopped at once."
Prof ATM Atiqur Rahman, Sazzad Sumon, Fakhrul Islam, Mamun-or-rashid and representatives of JU Journalists' Association, JU debate Organisation and several cultural organisations spoke on the occasion.
