Human chain at Mirpur to protect playgrounds

Save Environment Movement (SEM) Thursday formed a human chain in the city's Mirpur area to protect play grounds in the city, reports BSS.
The human chain at Senpara Government Primary School playground was led by SEM Chairman Abu Naser Khan, a press release said.
Members of SEM, residents of Senpara and representatives of various sports organizations took part in the human chain.
Speaking on the occasion, Abu Naser Khan said sports are essential for physical and mental development of children. But playgrounds are being occupied indiscriminately nowadays, he added.
He said as the children are not getting facilities for games and sports, they are tending towards various immoral and anti-social activities.
The speakers urged the government not to allow fairs, exhibitions and car parking in the playgrounds of the city.
They demanded immediate cancellation of arrangement of a fair in Senpara Primary School ground, the release said.
