CHITTAGONG, Apr 30: The Bangladesh Paribesh Andolan (BAPA), an environment protection body, today formed a human chain alleging Chittagong City Corporation of 'filling up the Laldighi'.
Lawyers, environmental activists and some school children formed the human chain in the afternoon. They alleged that city mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury being elected for the third consecutive time has been taking all development projects for commercial interest.
After moving around the place it was found that 22 workers employed by the CCC were engaged in digging and piling works on the east bank of the pond to make a swimming pool.
