CHITTAGONG, Apr 2: There is no alternative to developing human resources for achieving prosperity in both industrial and agricultural sectors of the country aiming at implementing the very dream of Digital Bangladesh and economic prosperity.
Industries Minister Dilip Barua said this while exchanging views at Bangladesh Institute of Management (BIM) Chittagong campus in the city yesterday.
Mr Barua said BIM has been contributing a lot to developing human resources for the last five decades. He assured the institute of providing all out cooperation on behalf of his ministry for undertaking short and long term planning for resolving different problems of this organisation as well as gradual implementation of those.
He deplored that in absence of time - befitting industrial policies, a good number of industries faced closure and employment facilities were squeezed in the past. He underscored the need for formulating realistic industrial policy and its proper implementation and thus creating employment opportunity. He also called for enhancing the volume of investment.
BIM Director Indrajit Barman, Deputy Director Salahuddin Ahmad and Senior Managing Adviser ANM Shahidullah also spoke at the meeting, among others.
