Human resources are most important factor behind success of any tech

Defence Secretary Kamrul Hasan said Thursday skilled human resources are the most important factor behind the success of any technology, reports BSS.
For turning the technology meaningful and beneficial for humankind, he said, necessary endowments were of an imperative need. The need for human network could hardly be over-emphasized, he added.
He was inaugurating a workshop on `Human Network' in SPARRSO auditorium in the city, jointly organised by Bangladesh Space Research and Remote Sensing Organisation (SPARRSO) and Geo-Informatics Centre, AIT, Bangkok, Thailand.
The inaugural session was presided over by SPARRSO Chairman Md. Nazmul Huda Khan, ndc, (Additional Secretary). Dr Pradeep Kumar Das, a distinguished scientist from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), also spoke on the occasion.
The AIT trained scientists, technologists and engineers of 16 departments along with SPARRSO, Survey of Bangladesh (SOB), Geological Survey of Bangladesh (GSB), Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS), Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) and Centre for Environmental Geographic Information Services (CEGIS) participated in the workshop.
Two papers on `Human Network' (a) `Remote Sensing and GIS in Bangladesh: Present Status and Future Needs' (b) `Opportunities and Challenges for Space Technology Application in Asian Region' were presented at the workshop.
The main objective of the workshop is to find out present scenario and future requirement of Remote Sensing (RS) and GIS.
It will also evaluate the success of training programmes to get feedback from the ex-trainees about the usefulness of training.
