Human Rights Day observed in Faridpur

FARIDPUR, Dec 11 (BSS): The 63rd 'International Human Rights Day' was observed in Faridpur Saturday in a befitting manner.
In connection with the observance of the day, Madaripur Legal Aid Association in collaboration with Esho Jati Gori (EJAG) yesterday organised a day long programme here.
The programme included rally, discussion meeting, essay competition, recitation and other cultural functions.
The discussion meeting on Human Rights was held at the EJAG office chaired by EJAG Executive Director Nazma Aktar while educationist and BSS Correspondent Prof. Md. Shahjahan was the chief guest.
Prof.Nazrul Islam, vice-principal of Faridpur Mahabiddalay and Prof. Alauddin Mia of Faridpur City College were the special guests at the meeting. Md Asaduzzaman, District Coordinator of Activating Village Courts project in Bangladesh of Madaripur Legal Aid Association moderated the meeting.
Speakers at the meeting told the meeting about the conception of the term of the Human Rights and how it is being violated in our society. Speakers called upon the students and youths to infuse the ideas of Human Rights among the people who do not understand their rights guaranteed by our constitution in line with UN declaration.
