Humayun Kabir new SAFA Vice President

Mohammed Humayun Kabir FCA, a council member and past president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh, has recently been appointed as the Vice President of South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) for the year 2025, says a statement. For the same period, Ashfaq Yousuf Tola, Past President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan, has been appointed as the President of SAFA.
Mr Kabir is set to automatically become the President of SAFA for the year 2026.
With over 43 years of professional experience, Mr Kabir has held various significant roles in the accounting and financial sectors. He worked at a CA firm from February 1981 to January 1985, before serving a financial institution February 1985 to June 1988.
In recognition of his contributions, Mr Kabir was awarded the Poribesh Padak (Environment Award) by the government in 2010 and was honoured as a commercially important person (CIP) for exports by the Ministry of Commerce for eight years.
He has been involved with the National Board of Revenue (NBR) as a Facilitator of Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) since March 2012. He is also associated with Bangladesh-German Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BGCCI) as a Director (elected 2021-2023) and the Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industries (FBCCI) as a member of a panel of advisers.
