Husband gets life term for killing wife in Pabna

PABNA, Aug 20: A husband gets life term imprisonment in connection with killing his wife in Pabna. Pabna district and session judge M Hassan Imam pronounced the verdict at a crowded court room at about 4.30pm on Tuesday.
The convict Md. Abdul Kader 35, son of Afaz Uddin of village Madhpur in Dapunia union in Pabna Sadar Upazila, was sent to jail from the court.
Kader strangulated his wife Alpana Khatun Asma, 19 on January 11, 2013 and dumped the body in a pond near the residence, according to case statement. Asma, daughter of Alamgir Hossain of village Kashipur in Pabna Sadar Upazila was killed six months after her marriage over a family feud, said Alamgir.
The court also fined Tk 20 thousand and in default, to duffer six months more in jail, according to witnesses and evidences.
