Husband kills wife for dowry

Another message adds: A young house wife was beaten to death allegedly by her husband for dowry money at village Pakuria under Singra Upazila in Natore district Monday night. The victim was identified as Ruby Rani Mahanta (25), wife of Dulal Chandra Mahanta of the area. Father of ruby said Dulal Chandra used to torture Ruby ever since their marriage in 1996 demanding Tk 50 thousand as dowry. He said following a quarrel over the issue Dulal beat his wife mercilessly Monday night leaving her death on the spot. The killer husband Dulal went into hiding after the incident. A case was filed with Singra police station.
