A housewife was reportedly killed by her husband over family feud at Maddhya Badda in the city on Friday noon, reports UNB.
Family sources said the couple-Suma Aktar (25), and her husband Manir Hossain-had been at loggerheads over family feud. As a sequel to the feud, they locked in an altercation at noon. At one stage, locals rushed to their house after hearing the scream of Suma and found the couple lying in a pool of blood on the floor.
Later, they took the couple to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) when doctors pronounced Suma dead.
Manir might have strangulated Suma and later tried to kill himself as injury marks were found at his hand and throat, said DMCH Police Camp in-charge sub-inspector Bacchu Miah. Manir was admitted to the hospital under police custody.
