IBA gets new director

Dr. A. K. M. Saiful Majid has recently joined as Director of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) of Dhaka University. He has served IBA as Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor and in different administrative positions over the last 25 years. He also served as the Vice Chancellor and the Chairman, Board of Trustees of Eastern University, according to a statement.
He worked as a Visiting Teacher of the University of Kassel, Germany. He was awarded the prestigious Senior Fulbright Fellowship by the US Department of State in 2010.
Dr. Majid was a very meritorious student in his student life. He secured the first position with record marks in the SSC examination, Humanities Group of the Rajshahi Board in 1969. He was awarded a `Gold Medal' for this extra-ordinary academic achievement by the then Governor of East Pakistan. He secured the 4th position in the HSC examination, Humanities Group, Rajshahi Board in 1972. He obtained the M.Sc in Economics degree with distinction from the Astrakhan Technical University in 1979. He then completed the MBA and Ph.D from the University of Dortmund, Germany. He also did a Post-Graduate Diploma in Higher Education and International Development from the University of Kassel, Germany. Dr. Majid has a good number of research publications of international standard in reputed international and national research journals.
