IBBL Bogra zone holds workshop on Shari'ah compliance

Bogra Zone of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited organised a workshop on 'Shari'ah Compliance and Implementation' at a local hotel in Bogra recently.
IBBL Shari'ah Council Member Additional Secretary Mohammad Serajul Islam was present at the workshop as the chief guest.
IBBL Executive Vice President and Head of Bogra Zone Abdul Kader presided over the workshop.
Shari'ah Council Senior Vice President Md Shamsul Huda, senior officers and some clients of ten branches of Rangpur and Dinajpur Zones of the bank attended at the workshop.
Serajul Islam, in his speech, said that Allah has permitted trade and forbidden interest. According to the Shari'ah, the business is not lawful where there are no seller and buyer and where there is no exchange of goods and the price is not pre-determined. He called upon the officers to conduct the banking activities following this doctrine.
He said that Islami Bank has been conducting interest-free commercial transaction and business activities. He called upon the clients to extend their co-operation in the establishment of Islamic banking and the implementation and compliance of the Shari'ah.
