IBBL donates Tk 0.1m to JET

Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd (IBBL) has donated Tk 0.1 million to Jalalabad Education Trust (JET) as scholarship in a bid to develop the country’s education sector. On behalf of the organisation, Finance Minister AMA Muhith received the cheque from Mohammad Abdul Mannan, managing director of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited at a scholarship distribution programme of the students of Sylhet division on Friday. Dr Farashuddin, JET chairman, Dr AK Abdul Mubin, president of Jalalabad Association, Abdul Hamid Chowdhury, chairman of Jalalabad Building Trust and Azam J Chowdhury, chairman of East Cost Group, were among others, present. It is mentionable that IBBL spent a total of Tk 829 million in education sector during the last 30 years, according to a news agency.
