IBBL gives priority to rural areas for extension of SME

Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) Chairman Abu Nasser Muhammad Abduz Zaher said IBBL gives priority to the Mufassil and rural areas for the extension of the small and medium enterprises (SME). The bank aims at enriching national economy by strengthening the financial base of the village people.
He was speaking as the chief guest of the closing ceremony of workshop on 'Functions and Operations of Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Service Centres' organised by Islami Bank Training and Research Academy (IBTRA) at Islami Bank Tower in the city Sunday.

DMD and Head of Investment Wing Mohammad Abdul Mannan, DMD and Head of International Banking Wing Md Habibur Rahman and top executives of the bank also attended the function among others
Abduz Zaher also said the service of Islamic banking was going to reach widely to the doorsteps of the common people through the SME Centres. He urged the SME Centre operators to inspire the common people and make them understand that it was possible to earn halal wage through business by presenting the beauty of Islamic economy and banking.
He said we would have to create jobs by investing among the young and innovative entrepreneurs. This uplift was possible through investment in SMEs.
Managing Director M. Fariduddin Ahmad said the concerned officials would have to be more sincere in selecting correct investment clients so that the SMEs develop in the country truely.
