IBBL opens branch, holds seminar in Rajshahi

The New Market branch of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) was inaugurated at Boalia in Rajshahi city Thursday as its 177th branch.
An inaugural function was organised at Chamber Bhaban in the city on the occasion where Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner and Additional Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam was present as the chief guest and Rajshahi Medical College Principal Md Fazlur Rahman was the special guest.
IBBL Director M Nazrul Islam Presided over the function addressed, among others, by Executive President M Fariduddin Ahmad, Executive Vice President and Zonal Head (Bogra) Abdul Kader, Eye Specialist Khwaja Nurunnabi Chowdhury and Sapura Silk Mills Proprietor Muhammad Sadar Ali.
A seminar on 'Islamic Economics and Banking' also was organised at Chamber Bhaban, Station Road, in Rajshahi city Wednesday on the same occasion.
IBBL Shari'ah Council Vice Chairman Mufti Sayed Ahmad, Head Mufti of Al Jamiatus Siddiqiah Darul Ulum (Madrasha-e-Furfura Sharif), Dhaka, was present as the chief discussant.
EVP Abdul Kader presided over the seminar. Among others Director Nazrul Islam, Rajshahi, University Science Faculty Dean Abul Hassem, IBBL Shari'ah Council Member and Rajshahi University Economics Department's Professor Shah Muhammad Habibur Rahman and Rajshahi Darussalam Kamil Madrasha Principal Moulana H M Shahidul Islam addressed the seminar.
