IBBL workshop on Practice of Islamic Banking ends

The closing ceremony of a six-day workshop on 'Practice of Islamic Banking' organised for the officials of Bank of Ceylon, Sri Lanka by Islami Bank Training and Research Academy was held at the Board Room of Islami Bank Tower in the city Thursday, said a press release.
Abu Nasser Muhammad Abduz Zaher, chairman of the board of directors of Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd (IBBL), was present at the closing function as the chief guest.
Presided over by M Fariduddin Ahmad, IBBL's executive president, the function was attended, among others, by Kazi Harun-ar-Rashed, director, M Azizul Huq, eminent consultant of Islami banking, ATM Harun-ur-Rashid Chowdhury, Mohd Shamsul Haque and Md Habibur Rahman, deputy executive presidents.
A four-member delegation led by MFM Nabil of Islami Banking Department of Bank of Ceylon participated in the workshop.
Abu Nasser Muhammad Abduz Zaher, in his speech, expressed the hope that the participating officers would utilise their knowledge gained from the workshop in expansion of Islami banking system in Sri Lanka.
He called upon them to encourage others in Islami banking by revolving the banking unit of Bank of Ceylon as the model of Islami banking in that country.
