IBBL workshop on SME service centres starts

The inaugural function of a workshop on 'Functions and operations of small and medium enterprises (SME) service centres' organised by Islami Bank Training and Research Academy (IBTRA) was held at the board room of Islami Bank Tower Saturday.
Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd (IBBL) Executive Committee Chairman Mominul Islam Patwary was present at the function as chief guest. MD of the bank M Fariduddin Ahmad presided over the function.
Deputy Managing Director and Head of Investment Wing Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Deputy Managing Director and Head of International Banking Wing Md Habibur Rahman and top executives of the bank attended, among others.
Mominul Islam said a new dimension of Islamic banking is going to be started through these SME centres. He said, "we have to increase the sphere of this new service through our skill and quality."
He added that the SME centres can increase the reputation of Islami Bank. He urged the SME centre operators to convey the message of Islamic banking to the common people and make them understand that it is possible to earn Halal livelihood through business.
He said, "We have to stretch our helping hand towards the skilled manpower and businessmen who do not get financial support for development." He urged all to work consciously and impartially.
Fariduddin Ahmad said, "Emotion is the main cause of the present problem of world economy. We won't work emotionally. We have to strictly follow our principles of investment." He stressed on total Shariah compliance.
