Inadequate infrastructure and improper banking facility are hindering Bangladesh's export to India, said Matlub Ahmed, president of the India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IBCCI) Thursday.
The IBCCI president at a meeting urged National Board of Revenue (NBR) chairman Nasiruddin Ahmed to give posting of high officials to the landports for quick custom related decisions, said a press release.
"If the steps are taken exports to India will increase and thus help to reduce the trade imbalance with India," Mr Matlub said.
He requested the NBR chairman to start operation of Belonia-Feni custom station as soon as possible and stop harassment meted out to businesses by VAT officials.
