ICAB delegation meets education secy

A delegation of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) led by its President Md Humayun Kabir made a courtesy call on the secretary of the ministry of education at his Secretariat office recently.
The other members of the delegation were council members and past presidents of ICAB M Farhad Hussain, ASM Nayeem and Abbas Uddin Khan, member AKM Aminul Hoque and Secretary NI Chowdhury. Additional Secretary of MoE Muzammel Huq Khan was also present in the meeting.
The ICAB delegation informed the education secretary that as a member of different international and regional accounting bodies, ICAB was playing a vital role in improving the accounting and auditing standards, corporate management and governance, financial reporting standards and ethical issues related therewith in Bangladesh.
The delegation also brought to the notice of the education secretary that given the opportunity the members of the institute could offer their professional services in audit and other allied matters in a befitting manner. The relevant professional issues discussed were audit of non-government educational institutions including secondary, higher secondary, Dakhil, Alim, Fazil and Kamil madrasas.
The education secretary gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured his all out support and actions in this connection.
