ICAB gets new president

Masih Malik Chowdhury has been elected president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB). Besides, AF Nesaruddin, Kamrul Abedin and Nasim Anwar have been elected vice presidents of the institute for the year 2015. The new office bearers of ICAB were elected by the members of its council shortly before holding the 42nd annual general meeting on Saturday. Incumbent president of ICAB Showkat Hossain presided over the AGM. Mr Chowdhury is an entrepreneur and chairman/director in few private companies in merchant banking, capital market, telecom, healthcare and education. He is also a government nominee in board of directors of few government bodies like Micro-credit Regulatory Authority (MRA), Social Development Foundation (SDF) and Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB). A member of ICAB Council since 2004, he was also a vice president of the institute in 2005. As the treasurer of Bangladesh Economic Association, he presented papers in seminars on national and professional issues under BEA, SAFA and ICAB. — Statement
