ICAB, ICMAB chiefs off to Italy

Separate teams of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) and the Institute of Cost and Accounting Management Bangladesh (ICMAB) left the city for Italy on Wednesday, according to statements received on Thursday.
A statement said the team of the ICAB headed by its President Showkat Hossain will attend in ICAEW sponsored Chartered Accountants Worldwide Summit, World Congress of Accountants Conference, IFAC, CAPA and World Bank's events in Rome, Italy.
The ICAB will sign renewal of memorandum of understanding with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales to strengthening existing bilateral relationship between the institutes tomorrow (Saturday). It will also participate in ICAEW Summit on Strengthening National PAOS on November 10.
The delegates will also take part in CAPA PAODC and PSFM Committee meetings, CAPA Board Meeting, AGM, Director only Board Meeting, World Bank event and hold a meeting with ACCA chief executive there.
Other members of the team are : ICAB member council and past presidents Md Humayun Kabir, Anwaruddin Chowdhury, Md Syful Islam, Akhtar Sohel Kasem and Md Abdus Salam, Vice President Dewan Nurul Islam, Council Member Muhammad Farooq and Director (Technical) Mahbub Ahmed Siddique.
The ICAB delegation will return home on November 15.
Another statement said the ICMAB team headed by its President Mohammed Salim will also take part in a number of meetings and conferences like International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) Board & Council Meeting, Confederation of Asian & Pacific Board, EGM meeting and Professional Accountancy Organisation Development Committee Meeting.
Mr Selim will also take part at the World Congress of Accountants (WCOA 2014) scheduled to be started from November 10.
WCOA is a mega event for professional Accountants held at every four years span in different part of the world.
Professional Accountants from all over the world congregate in this congress to exchange views and to develop this profession in order to offer better services through their dedicative effort.
