ICAB organises CPE seminar in city

A CPE seminar on 'Auditor Independence-Threats and Safeguard' was organised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) at the ICAB Auditorium in the city recently.
Former adviser to the Caretaker Government M Hafizuddin Khan attended the function as the chief guest.
Syed Fazle Ali, senior partner of SF Ahmed and Co Chartered Accountants, conducted the seminar as the session chairman.
Sabbir Ahmed FCA of KPMG Australia presented the keynote paper, said a press release.
M Hafizuddin Khan, in his speech as the chief guest, said Chartered Accountants are professionally qualified accountants and as per the Companies Act 1994 and the Bangladesh Chartered Accounts Order 1973 they are mandated to practice as public accountants with full independence. Therefore, the Chartered Accountants who are permitted by the ICAB to undertake practice as Public Accountants have the responsibility to frame free, fair and impartial reports on the audit findings.
The Auditor has the inherent commitment to adhere to the principles of audit so that audit findings are disclosed properly to safeguard the interest of the stakeholders.
Humayun Kabir FCA President ICAB in his address of welcome thanked the participating members for their cooperation and attendance in large numbers to make the seminar a success.
