The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) organised a training programme on "Public Sector Auditing Standards" under the World Bank financed "Public Private Partnership for Improved Audit Quality Assurance" project for its members at ICAB auditorium on Friday. A total of 105 ICAB members received the training in two batches. International Standards of Supreme Audit Institutions (ISSAIs) are a set of professional standards developed by Professional Standards Committee of International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) and approved by its Congress. The ISSAI frame work includes ISSAIs stating the basic prerequisites for the independence, proper functioning and professional conduct of Supreme Audit Institutions that are entrusted with the oversight function of use of public funds and the fundamental principles in auditing public entities and guidelines for use in carrying out the audits. ISSAI frame work also includes INTOSAI Guidance for Good Governance (INTOSAI GOV) providing guidance to public authorities on the proper administration of public fund, according to a statement.
